I have lived in my home for almost a year now. I cannot tell you how many service request forms I've faxed, e-mails I've sent, and phone calls I've placed within the last six months trying to get Richmond American to live up to their warranty obligations. My house has two major problems, both which pose a threat to its structural integrity. Because of Richmond's inability to quickly address these problems, they've compounded further into additional problems; two head aches turned into five. As of this posting, I am still fighting to get the problems completely fixed. Aside from their lack of response, the most frustrating thing about the whole situation is that one of the original problems stem from shoddy construction. Richmond American unofficially admitted they were aware of the mistake during construction, yet opted not to fix it. Instead, they hoped the mistake wouldn't come back to haunt them. Because of their lackadaisical construction approach and lackluster warranty service, not only am I inconvenienced, I have to spend countless hours trying to get something done. Since when did Richmond America's Customer Service become the home buyer's job? Under no circumstances should an individual consider Richmond American. Along with the lackluster quality of construction, Richmond American has a difficult time fulfilling their warranty obligations. In my experience, the incredible floor plans and excellent neighborhoods are no compensation for a nightmare of a home.

Too many problems with the home to list...from stucco and flashing problems to detached floorboards and gouged bathtub enamel. Horrendous paint job, have to redo patio, concrete splatters all over stucco, etc. etc. etc. Go over the home with a FINE TOOTH COMB before signing off on ANYTHING! Or better yet, go with another builder.

I have been in my home 11 months. The home overall is fine, however, any of the problems i have had received slow, if any response. DO NOT CLOSE unless ALL problems are FIXED TO YOUR SATISFACTION! I have made 4 phone contacts and sent multiple buyer concern forms without action. Great neighborhood and floor plan though.
