After 5 months we still do not have a screen door on the back entrance. The wrong treshold was installed and the screen door cannot be installed properly. Three times they have looked at the problem , said they would be back next week and never have kept their promise. Calling the office only gets you a recorded message telling you to submit your problem in writting and then it is never acknowleged. An erosion problem exist in a ditch on my property which they agreed to fix by installing a retaining wall. But the only thing done was to spread more grass seed on the ground as a cure for this problem. When calling for information about my problems, I am always switched to a recorded message and cannot make contact with their personnel. The project manager will not even talk to me about the problems and insists on my calling the office. This attitude makes me believe it is their way of discouraging any further contact with the property owner after they have received their money.

since we have yet to close on the house, the first two questions do not apply to this rating. That said, we are so distressed by the callous disregard of Fox Ridge Homes in the placement and building of our home that we do not even intend to move in. The house will go up for sale the very day we settle. Furthermore, our salesperson was deceitful by claiming she could not answer questions upfront that were pertinent to our decision-making process. The site manager's philosophy is that you have no right to ask questions or bring your concerns to his attention while your house is being built -- he is simply too busy to be bothered by customers. In fact, had this been an option available to us, the plumbing in the basement of our house that was installed 4' off could have been corrected prior to the concrete being poured.

The whole "one stop shop" program (associated business agreement between the mortgage, title, builder, appraiser, warranty) was misleading to me as a first time homebuyer. They offered an appealing 4,000 incentive towards closing costs to get me to finance through their company and then played with the numbers. When I finally realized that it is all strategy, and I was actually over-charged and my house is not really worth what I paid for it, it is too late. I told them too much personal information and they used it to their advantage. Now I am trapped and they can basically treat me anyway they want because I have to do the work to make sure my house is completed. I really did not think that I needed a college degree in "homebuying" - I thought that being a customer was good enough. I have had to learn the hard way...this business is all a game and what I did not know has hurt me. It is true, "LET THE BUYER BEWARE". It took nine months, and a lot of my personal time, to finish the interior of my house covered under their warranty. This is when I also discovered after many conversations with their managers and writing letters that if I did not ask them, they would not tell me. Also, lying buys them time and acting like they do not know things does to. Now, I am trying to get my majorly eroding property completed before my warranty runs out and am having a difficult time. One of the included features is a fenced in backyard that I (and my animals) have not been able to enjoy yet (9 months) because it is falling into a 15-foot ditch and there is not enough land to build it. The problem is that they decided to build my house (and many others) on land that is eroding and will not fix it. Some people may think that I should have known better, but I did not. I truly never expected to be treated so poorly.
