I wish I had found this website before we bought a Charter Home. This is our third new home and the first with Charter. I have never seen such poor workmanship in a home before! While they blame quick growth in the company for their mismanagement, they continue to employ poor contractors and lack quality control. Don't think you can help manage the construction by being there every day. I was and things were promised to be fixed and never were. We got crooked walls, missing trim, scratched and chipped windows that the drywallers ruined but Charter won't replace, and the list goes on.... There is a clause in their contract that says they can determine what "builder's quality" is. Charter's definition of quality is POOR!!! I paid over a half million for this home but it is cheaper than my first home I bought for $145,000.00! Lights by the garage door didn't even come with the house!!! Cheap, cheap, cheap (and the sales lady didn't even tell us that..or much of anything. ) There are better builders out there and Charter is NOT worth the headache and disappointment! If you don't believe me, just ask any Charter Home owner.

We have had NOTHING but trouble with Charter Homes. They refuse to fix things in a timely manner, they schedule 'action days' and the contractors never show up. We have lived in our new home one year and we STILL have items from our MOVE IN punch list that have yet to be completed! Plus they lie to you every time you turn around! BEWARE of this builder. Beautiful home, LOTS of headaches!!!

Too many to list!!!! I moved in October 2004 and I am still waiting for my yard to be finished!!!! I hate the on going process of calling and nagging to get anything done. It seems to me that this builder thinks if you do not complain at least 5 times then everything is okay! If it wasn't for the wonderful new friends and neighbors we have, I would have moved by now.
