Buyer Beware
Poor quality, cutting corners and false advertising is how we would describe Charter Homes. We built a single home in a Mt. Joy development based on the sales pitch, location and reputation of this builder. The process of building with Charter and the quality of the home are a far cry from what was presented in the beautiful model home sales office one year ago. Just about everything in the house has been replaced (roof, carpet, flooring, windows, trim, front door, patio) due to the incompetent contractors, poor quality of materials and no oversight during the build out process. Much larger homes in the neighborhood have been reduced in price to the point of undervaluing our home so significantly we could not sell if we wanted to. Although the builder has fixed most of the issues to date, any enjoyment in building / buying and moving into a new home was destroyed after signing the contract.
