UNPROFESSIONAL BULLIES!
Unfortunately we never closed & lived in the home. It was a previously built inventory home that we signed a contract (with a finance contingency) to purchase. The sales rep. misrepresented a contingency waiver form as a home sale contingency waiver that we signed since we did not have a home to sell. Now the builder claims that we waived our financing contingency on that form. When we could not obtain financing due to a high debt to income ratio, they are now sending us debt collection letters and threatening litigation for specific performance and collection of ridiculous fees. They were incredibly unprofessional and when I asked why they were doing this when we can't get financing, I was told by the Sales Manager that they were "teaching us a lesson." We are in a precarious financial situation due to having 2 children with autism and one with a congenital physical birth defect. Our large debt is due to expenses involved in their care. We had just sold a home worth the same value as the one we tried to purchase, so we assumed we could qualify for the loan. But unfortunately, our debt load was too high. I am not sure what Mayer Homes thinks they will accomplish. If they win a judgement against us, we will be forced to file chapter 7 bankruptcy and they won't get a dime anyway. VERY HOSTILE COMPANY with a disdain for the buyer. They look down on the buyers as suckers and are nothing short of big bullies! BEWARE!!!!
