Comments:

Lousy builder -- many excuses for poor quality. Builder's warranty rep states that we expect too much. "After all, you bought a tract home." Major problems remain unresolved after a year! Repeated letters go unanswered by their "customer service" reps. Major defects include: improperly installed windows, subflooring inadequate to support tile or hardwood flooring, spalling cement, drainage problems, roofing problems, severe cracks in foundation, improperly prepared drywall in bathrooms (cannot support tile), etc. In short, poor quality materials and abysmal construction. Buyer beware, indeed, because MJC won't own up to their responsibility and won't talk to customers! No wonder they of the JD Power survey.

Comments:

They claimed they water tested the place. Within days of moving in and our neighbor moving in our basement ceiling was destroyed. They took over a month to get it fixed and then painted it the wrong color. Then, they hid a crack in the basement wall that they had badly attempted to repair with extra carpet and tile and flooring to conceal the bad work. I found out when my basement flooded. Most recently we have water damage to our entryway by our front door from a leaking roof. Whatever you do don't buy from these guys. They don't give you a real number to contact them, you can't get a callback or reasonable turnaround time.... (3 weeks for a painter to repaint something that was their fault is reasonable in their book) and you get told to "deal with it" by the construction supervisor. These guys are shady shady shady and will try and avoid doing warranty work at all costs... Just like locusts.. they build, destroy, slap up shoddy work whenever they can make their money and try to move on without having to do right by the customer..... whatta joke.

Comments:

Foundation was poured to close to the front of the lot. We lost the 3 car garage due to this. Builder did extend the size of the garage at no cost and give a minimal ammount of money off the base price of the house after some discussion.
