This was the first home we've built. We had to call the builder to get updates on the building process. We were supposed to close in November, when we called the office they said it will be ready sometime in December. This went on every month until we finally did close at the end of March. And, we had to push to get the closing done then. So communication with the builder was very bad when it came to updating the buyer. Once we moved in and got settled we paid to have upgraded Berber carpet installed throughout the house. We got the carpet but the padding they used must have been the cheapest made because the carpet feels like I'm walking on cement and actually scratches my feet up and you can feel lumps underneath the carpet. I have to wear slippers or socks. I'm so upset by this because now I have to pay someone to come in and remove the carpet and install tile. Then to top things off we were going to have some work done in the yard and discovered according to our survey, that the builder encroached on our property by building a retaining wall to protect the so called preserve behind our house. Now we are going to have to seek legal advice to find out what our options are because we had no say in the matter whatsoever, and we don't know what our rights are or who is going to be responsible for maintaining this wall. Customer service has fixed other little problems we've had and the staff has been polite but for the more serious issues we get no answer. I am happy to be a home owner in Palm Beach County but, I am very disappointed in the whole process.
