Altieri Homes is not to be trusted.

Once Altieri gets your contract, they disappear. They don't respond to emails, phone calls, etc. The house layouts are great, but dealing with this builder is stressful. Buyer beware.

extremely poor quality work. nails pops everywhere to the extreme of plaster falling out. door frame is 3'' out of wall at top on one side because walls are not close to square. Flooring cut wrong, then glued, now obvious split can be seen. The grade of the flooring in the bathrooms is so poor that the floors are turning yellow. Door knobs not installed properly, they would fall off in your hand. Deckis warped, ballustrade "popped" off. boards of deck are pulling up to 2'' or more. Despite contacting the company, they "sign off" after 6 months. This is a small list since occupying the house September 2004.

Our experience with Altieri homes has been less than pleasant. It started after we signed the contract. We would stop by to see the construction of our home and find mistake after mistake. We met with the design center and were promised that certain cabinets were part of the package, after 6 weeks of selecting the cabinets we were informed that they made a misake and would not honor our selection. We were also shown paint selections only to be informed by voice mail that the paint was discontinued and that Altieri decided our colors!!!!!They installed the wrong tub, covered up exhaust fans and intercom systems with drywall, then destroyed the drywall trying to cut them out only after we pointed it out that they were covered up. They placed the main intercom to close to a light switch,they actually overlapped each other. I brought this to their attention; Altieri's fix? modify the switch plate!! We have crooked walls, vinyl flooring that is pealing back, they placed all carpet seams in high travel areas. The grout used in our tile floor is crumbling. We have standing water in the yard which they have refused to address. We then spoke with other home buyers and listened to their issues; from basements flooding, to pipes freezing and water leaks around the windows. We have drafts coming in from every window and switch plate that is on an external wall. Their subcontractors are less than desirable, I found one employee urinating in the middle of the street!!! We have children living in the neighborhood!!! We were sent a survey, I sent a 10 page letter with pictures showing the flaws; Altieri's response............6 months and I am still waiting!!! If you see an Altieri neighborhood drive away at a high rate of speed so you do not waste your money!!!!!!!
