Manufactured Home Hints

We purchased a triple wide manufactured home and had it placed on land we alredy owned. You are on a list it seems and during that time of year they are the busiest to get as many homes pumped out as possible and then when the weather get colder and they get out of their "BUSY TIME" then they get to the list of homes they have built for people and go back and start fixing all of the problems instead of going from start to perfected finish. Our year was up in December and after one year you call them and they come back and fix the cracks and stuff like that, well it is May and we still havn'e seen them, this has seemed like a habit for them. When I called them in December and told them our year is up I was told "O.K. great we'll get the guys out as soon as we can, you know how busy we are this time of year but we will get them out there hahaha" Like I said, it is now May. The home itself, we looked at probably 75 different models before we stepped into this one and said this is it, you know right when you walk in the door. It is the best and most fabulous floor plan I have seen, we have even had other contractors want to come and look at our home when we finally got here. We did personalize things because both my husband and I are 6'2" we had then raise the counters 4" and raise the shower heads to 7'. It is very best to know that they can do these things before you order your home instead of the "OHHHH you know what we could have had them do if we would have known they could do it?...." things. There are a few "cheap" things well, one that I can say they put in our home and that is the tiles around the bar surface, right on the edges of the copunter, they look nice but are not secured well enough and they need to com back and find a nother way to adhere them. As for construction, one thing am very saddened about, we have one complete wall that is crooked from bottom to top it is about 2" difference. Am quite disgusted that they would make such a mistake. Still pondering about that one! Overall, it is home and a nice one at that. For the readers who are planning on purchasing a manuf. home, have patience and do not be afraid to tell them EXACTLY what you want, it is your home and your hard earned money, it is their job to satisfy you their customer.
