Do not purchase from them unless you like poor customer service. I purchased 18 months ago. Oh, you can always talk to the real estate agent, but after you build the house, watch out. They have the WORST customer service I have ever seen. They have one phone number which they never answer if you have warrenty issues. If someone does answer they put you in voice mail and never return calls. I had to go to the township I live in to get them to fix my ROOF. I asked them for 6 months to fix it to no avail. I found out that the Department of Community Affairs oversees new construction in NJ and was about to have them intercede, but when I called the township, the township engineer was great, and had them out the same day. I would never ever recommend Elliott Building Group to anyone. Buyer beware.

We signed an agreement of sale with EBG in Sept of 2004 with an expected delivery time of eighteen month as it was a brand new development in New Jersey. At the time we signed, the roads were just being made and the underground utilities were being installed. Well, time went on and we heard nothing. We had to beg for any kind of information. Our sales rep was part of another real estate company who sold the original 40 homes and she too, did not have any information to give us. We finally were told that EBG was delayed because they had to wait for the township to run water to older homes in the area. Then one day out of the blue, foundations were placed for about ten homes and they sat and sat and sat for months with still no word on what was happening with our home. There's was a "meet the neighbors" gathering at the sales trailer with promise of informatoin about our home that lay in wait. Well, that meeting was a joke we were then told a completion date of August 2006. Now there were people that were supposed to close that May and June at the meeting and their homes weren't even started yet!! Now our foundation was dug and the foundation was set in July, but then too sat and sat with still no explanation of why!! Now the good part. We closed November 30th and our home is gorgeous!! I couldn't be happier with the finished product. The tile work, hardwood, trim is all within high quality workmanship. Sure we found a couple of nicks and our jacuzzi leaked but nothing too extreme and with the leaking jacuzzi they were out to fix it with in the week. I love my home and I belief it was made pretty well, but I would never recommend Elliott Building Group to anyone because of their poor custor service. If not knowing what's going on with your home and being told story after story doesn't bother you then go ahead a build with EBG. All I wanted was communication!! Even a call every now and then to tell us about the delays and even an I don't know would have been better than nothing.

The Agreement of Sale was signed in June 2005, and the original proposed settlement was December 2005. On our requested walk-through, which was done the week of February 13, 2006, the construction site representative stated that there would be no problem completing the house by March 2006. However, we received an official letter from the Elliott Building Group 14 days prior to the March settlement date. They informed us that the house would not be completed by that settlement date. They did not notify us until 2 weeks prior to the March date that settlement was being pushed back to the end of April. We had movers ready, appliances being delivered, and a move out date of March 31st from our apartment. Now, one of the Vice Presidents of the Elliott Building Group has not returned our calls. They did not notify us of the reason why they started construction in the same month that the original settlement was to be held (December 2005). We have not been notified with a reason why the March 2006 settlement was delayed except for a miscommunication in their office. Now we have received yet another letter for settlement in April 2006 with no compensation for the cost we incurred due to the delay.

Elliott has a top notch and very professional SALES staff. They treat you with respect and professionalism. My positive experiences with this company ends there. Ground Breaking Construction is over 2 and a half months off schedule. Paperwork mysteriously disappeared, Important documents related to construction approvals were never applied for, and now our $550k plus home is so far behind schedule that it is having a financial impact on us selling our existing property.Statements on construction dates, permitting approvals,etc has been grossly inaccurate and misleading. Very Unhappy at this point with no positive signs of change in the foreseeable future working with this "award winning" builder.
