Mess During Contruction Cleaned Up In The End

Although building a home is always a stressful experience, I would say that we are overall very happy with our new home. I was a little concerned during construction with exposed areas of new tile, granite, and bathroom fixures and the tendency for nails and tools to be left around. Although it seemed like the house would never be cleaned in time for our walk-through, it was. Also, there was no damage to any of the above items.

The fireplace is not centered on the wall. It is so badly off center they had to cut a notch out of the mantle to fit it over the left window frame. The right side of the mantle is 5 inches away from the other window. The solurtion would have been to install a double window instead of 2 single windows. The builder neglected to inform us of the defect during the inspection and unfortunately 2 other people with me failed to notice the flaw. Their electician faile to install a doorbell and so an plug in type has to be used.
