Representative not answering calls.

Our main problems where after we move in, and we started to find the problems, after looking at the blue prints, things that they fail put or contruct, crucket door frames, not outlets,or lights where they were suppose to be, also drive way cracks, and they refuse to fixed, and cracks on the basement walls that they did not fix. Selling not even, molding was not put in, and they took almost a year to come and repair some of it. The community it is ok, except that they have bi-law , that you do not suppose to have in the yard, like white rock, they want everything natural, but some people put white rock and they did not inforce it. Call the representative and not call back, or too a long time to have the repairs fix, and some time they will show up without making an appointment.

Stay away from Ryland!!!

The builder doesn't supervise the subcontractors. The paint is cheap and inconsistant. The painters don't bring drop cloths or ladders. The builder has to be reminded to come and fix problems. Many neighbors have the same and even more complaints.

Not only was I overcharged by the builder but my entire subdivision along with nearby subdivisions suffer as homeowners due to the poor workmanship that Ryland Homes provided. Because of their size and legal team they build CRAPPY HOMES and then disappear with your money. Their worst work can be seen at the website. Our house was built with the wrong brick and to top it off, the brick had black powder on it. If you touch the brick, you would get this black stuff all over your hands. Ryland refused to correct the problem and the sales agent told us "Well at least you have a house that's different from everyone else's house". I have a tv cable wire coming out of the center of my family room wall. This wire is supposed to be for the cable box in the adjoining room. The outdoor speaker box was located inside the house next to my stairs.

When I closed and got to the house the basement had water. The builder could not find where it came from. Two days later I pulled up the carpet and the floor around the fireplace was wet. It seems as if the water came in from the chimney. Last weekend, I pulled up the carpet on the other end of the room and found a big black wet spot that look like oil. I am unable to use my clothes dryer because an electrical point for a stove was installed instead of a point for a dryer. I have no phone service because poor wiring. Plus, the cabinet below my kitchen sink is always wet because of a leaking pipe.
