Centex Sale Reps / Regional Manager

Builder's Sales Reps were extremely rude. They discovered they made a math error on the Purchase Agreement and told me I owed $5,000 more 2 days before closing. They would not negotiate and the Sales Rep told me to go buy elsewhere if I didnt like it. The Regional Manager of Centex told me to "Go buy elsewhere" as well. It was only when I threatened to go to the President of Centex did they abide by the signed contract. They also balked at removing wallpaper in the Master Bath (which was peeling) and repainting it. They finally agreed but I had to make about 5 phone calls and all reps were extremely rude. They acted as if they were doing me a favor by selling at the price.....

Problems with Siding

Overall, everything went extremely well with them. The only problem has been with the siding of the house which has twice lost pieces within the first year we've lived here.

The building quality is the lowest ever. They built our townhome a year ago, and we had more than 100 issues to address to them by 8 month walk-through. Some issues were major problems including floor warping due to structural failure to level the second floor (one wall in the middle of the house is 1/4-1/2 inch higher), floor squeaks, plumbing pipe noise, misplacement of dishwasher pan, cracks on the trims, crooked pillars, unfit doors (space between doors and walls), deceptive works such as puttying, lasck of detail work, hiding spots, etc. We never ever buy Centex again. Centex field managers and warranty managers try to convince that problems we see are not "big deals." Their standard quality is amazingly low, they just want to make as many houses as possible to sell and profit, that's all they care. Warranty managers especially try not to fix many problems with all kinds of reasons, although field managers earlier tells they will fix. They have major communication problem between staff. Their workmanship sucks big time. Never Centex!!!
