The builder left us with several problems that could of been remedied during constrution. The house cut was not large enough, resulting in a steep and eroding bank behind the house and tall trees were left that could fall and severly damage our house. No erosion control was put in place. We will have to spend $ 7000 plus for tree removal, earthmoving and a retaining wall. This could of easily been prevented when the house ws built for far less money. When we moved in, we removed five large bags of construction garbage left behind by our builder and returned his tools that he left. Our entrance walkway was driveway size gravel over mud. No grass was planted to prevent erosion. We had to remove the temporary power hook up ourselves. Our drywall is a continuous problem. We now have exposed drywall screws that have punched through the finish. Seams in the drywall are visible. Every electric outlet was loose. We removed the ceiling fans installed after finding out they were a known fire hazard. The line for the septic and power line were done two weeks before we moved in. No gravel was added when they were refilled, resulting in a mud pit. Our remedy is to have our driveway paved with BST ($ 3000). There is a plumbing issue that we have brought to our builders attention that has not been addressed. He finally put down grass seed and straw in the middle of the winter. The birds ate most of it, and we have had to put down our own grass and pine straw to control the erosion.
