Steer clear of Duggan Homes!

Builder and all of his representatives (watch out for Denise Smith) have been hostile and rude to the point of ridiculousness. Unfortunately, they had already had our non-refundable money by the time this figured this out. This builder is an absolute nightmare. Save yourself a lot of time and heartache and build with someone who cares and has any bit of accountability and ethics. Duggan Homes has neither. Take a look at the Johnson County District Courts website and search Duggan Homes and that should tell you all you need to know about they way he runs his company. Or, just read all the reviews on this website - not a positive one in the bunch! Wish I had found this website before we decided to build with Duggan!! My complaints are the same as all the others . . . no customer service or accountability with warranty work, no communication from anyone in the Duggan Camp while building, even extreme rudeness from representatives. Buyer beware!!

Issues during warranty period

Our main concern is lack of response on maintenance issues that are yet to be completed 5 months from Walk-through and closing. The quality of workmanship, and the amounf o effort we have had to put in to things we have paid them to have done, is unbelievable. 5 months after move in there is items from our closing punch list that are yet to be addressed. Grading/ Sod are yet to be done. 5 months, and our lawn looks like it has grass - but, its a lawn full of weeds to the point it is affecting lawns of our neihbors.

NEVER returned phone calls. 13 leaks after closing. 3 months to get sod. crack in the foundation. Only met the builder once- upon request- before signing the contract. Outrageous fees for changes and upgrades. Never came on-site for construction process. Late closing. DO NOT USE THIS BUILDER!

This so called"builder never once during our entire build job communicate regularly with us, he nevercomplete things on time, and craftsmanship was far from fair! If there is one thing I could tell people thinking about using Duggan Homes is ,,You are in for the time of your life. They will charge you 5 times the amount for any upgrades, they will do shottie craftsmanship, they will complete your home when they get around to it. The Supervisors don't communicate to you or your releator..And just wait, once you close..you might as well forget getting anything fixed correctly. I had a leak in my great room that took them 7 times to fixand 10 tubes of caulk!! I still have leaks that aren't fixed. I've lived in my house for 1.5 years and stuff is still screwed up. They won't show up when they say, and when they do they won't have right tools or equipment. Trust me..this happens all the time. Please donot Buy a John Duggan Home, You will regret it for the rest of your life!!!!

We love our home but are very unhappy with the builder. As far as communication with the builder directly - there is absolutely none. When there is no communication the quality of work and rate in which things are fixed are extremely poor. We are also waiting to have items that were addressed in the two month walk thru fixed and we have been in our home over a year. And just like the other homeowners that are past the one year warranty no one will call us back from the home office. The driveway was obviously not sealed and now we have a hug crack running from end to end as well as pitting and the drive was less than a year old when this took place. They offered several times to come look at it but (of course) never showed up.

We ave very unhappy with the home we purchased. There was shoddy workmanship, and no communication with the builder. We tried to address several concerns before they became an issue, and no one would respond to us. The things that needed to be fixed were not fixed in a reasonable amount of time, and several things were not fixed properly, and now, since we're past our one year warranty period, no one will call us back to fix the things that were not fixed properly in the first place. The builder also put sod on our lot in the middle of the summer, when the sod people strongly recommended that they not because of the heat. We have horrible grass now because of it, and the builder could care less. We would have gladly waited for our sod, but did not get the choice.
