Building our home couldn't have gone any smoother. The builder kept us informed every step of the way and has addressed each warranty item professionally and within a reasonable time period. Overall a great experience. If I ever do this again, I wouldn't use anyone else to build my home.

There were a few problems with some of the subcontractors work, but the builder came right out and corrected the problems within days of being notified. A couple time he even had to call in other people to fix the items because the subs wouldn't respond at all, but he still got it taken care quicker than I thought he would. He helped us to cut costs and allowed us to view material and labor invoices whenever we questioned expenses, which from what I understand is unheard of in the industry. The home was slightly behind schedule due to weather, but nothing that could've been avoided by any other builder. Overall a good experience.

Smooth transaction. Very attentive and asked us questions whenever something came up that he felt we needed to make the call on. He had much larger allowances than any other builder we approached, and a very helpful website (derekalan.com) with warranty and care tips. He provided us with a list of emergency numbers should we need them and explained everything in depth whenever we questioned him on something. All and all, a good experience compared to the horror stories I hear about from people using other builders. He also allowed us to save thousands by eliminating realtor commissions and working directly with him, so I gave him a 5 on the realtor couteous question!

1st time a builder personally handed me a copy of his warranty with tips for maintaining my home and emergency numbers of his subcontractors and suppliers just incase something went wrong. Highly reccommend Derek Alan Custom Homes!
