Run Fast! Dusty Rhodes @ Northgate Village is bad news!
Where do I start? I had them tear out 4 walls, 3 ceilings and the upstairs floor before I closed because the home was so uneven. The middle beam of the house sagged several inches. They power jacked it up, now the house is settling and walls are cracking everywhere. They didn't even clean the house for me before I moved in! They lost the house keys and I couldn't move in for nearly 2 weeks after closing. 3 HVAC vents weren't hooked up and the house is FREEZING in the winter. Plumbing leaked everywhere there is plumbing. I had to replace all of the mechanics of every toilet, that's when I found cracked tanks. My shower stall and jacuzzi have chipped fiberglass. My living room ceiling was replaced because they didn't install the shower drain properly in the master bath. Don't even try to use the cheap GE by Fisher-Price garbage disposal! After a big rain, I had big puddles of water in the floors because they didn't caulk the windows outside (which don't all fit), and this led to rotted wood window frames and sills. All of the lights dim in the house when the AC kicks on, or when you plug in the iron! A trusted electrician told me the house is wired wrong. Where is the North Kansas City inspector? The builder left exposed natural gas lines outside for 6 months, until they rusted. Built by skilled labor? They were hiring illegals in my garage for $20 cash per day. Don't waste your money!

I cannot say enough good things about our builder Dusty Rhodes Homes. They exceeded our expectations in every way. Our home was completed early with a minimal punch list. To our surprise our punch list was completed before we moved in. The follow up program they have is even better than the service we recieved before moving in. I would highly recommned our homebuilder anyone who wants a great experience in building.

The house was built in the Hampton Place subdivision. Workmanship on the interior of the home was poor. Finishing of the sheetrock and wood trim was sloppy. Interior painting was also sloppy. The wrong flooring was installed in the master bath, the powder room and on the staircase landing. The wood floor had to be refinished twice but still is not satisfactory. The cabinets had to be repainted three times. A Dusty Rhodes employee painted them the last two times and used a roller?the finish looks terrible (the original finish was sprayed). The drains in the two upstairs showers were installed incorrectly and leaked to the ceiling below. Carpet seams are noticeable in most of the rooms. A window in the master bedroom had to be replaced twice because it was improperly installed. A window above the landing had to be replaced because it was installed crooked. The down spout on the front of the house was originally installed over a window. The roof over the laundry room was not joined correctly to the house and leaked into the office and entryway. This had to be repaired twice. The ceiling was damaged when the roof leaked after the first attempted repair. The repaired ceiling was improperly sprayed and had to be redone. The yard was improperly graded, poor quality sod was laid down, and numerous large rocks under the sod left dead spots. The yard adjacent to the driveway sank about six inches in a heavy rain. Customer service has been very poor. I cannot recommend this builder.
