Do Not BUILD A McCar Home!!! BEWARE~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!

Our home is so beautiful on the outside and also on the inside. The layout looked beautiful, they offer everything it seemed~We moved in in June, on our 30 day walkthru we showed them our carpet that had mashed down so badly you can't get it up with a vacuum cleaner! It is Horrible, we were told by the person that layed the carpet down that it was "fuzzing" and they would file a claim, it should not be like this after 1 month, the claim was denied by Shaw and by McCar, normal wear and tear! It really is horrible and looks 20 years old. Of course no one wanted to take responsibility for it!!Not their dime! Then the closets: The walk in closets in the MB you can't close the door on mine because the openings are so narrow that the clotheshangers stick out beyond the casement, My husband had to take the door off his because you can only use ONE side of the closet and you have to go in and shut the door to get to the only side you can hang clothes, so he took off the door! The HVAC: The thermostat was put in upstairs and the zones were designed right to left instead of upstairs and downstairs so you have to go upstairs to adjust the heat or air in the kitchen that is downstairs!!! In the winter the upstairs is 90 degrees and the downstairs is 65 degrees and you can't get the heat or air to regulate!!! Everyone with the Ridgewood Plan Beware!!!! They knew of this problem ahead of time and did not reveal. The bedrooms we are told if we want to be warm in the MB we Have to leave the doors open! It will be 64 degrees in our room, open the door to the hall and it;s 82 degrees, Maybe it's because we only have one register to heat and cool our 18 foot bedroom! Hardwood Floors: They warp! they dint! they scrape and scratch extremely easy!They seperate! The wall is cracking above the french doors to the patio~maybe a SLAB problem? Our SOD: came with 2 fungus', rust fungus and a mold spore fungus~it is spreading around to the neighbors now! Nice howdy doo!! Customer Service: Call them once , call them twice it doesn't matter. They'll call you when they are ready which may be NEVER!!!! And when they do call they will tell you the same thing they told the last person, "IT IS OUR STANDARD PLAN, WE BUILT ACCORDING TO OUR PLANS" DRAINAGE: Standing water (of course that's NORMAL), black greasy stuff and green algae on top of standing water,NORMAL Put street lights in our neighborhood about every three houses then on one of the main culdesacs it's pitch black because there is no street light between 10 houses! " We didn't plan one there" PATCHED THE SIDEWALKS WITH DIFFERENT COLOR CEMENT VERY SPLOTCHY AND PITTED PATCHED THE FRONT ENTRANCE PORCH TO MY FRONT DOOR WITH A DIFFERENT COLOR CEMENT AFTER THEY CHIPPED A BIG HUNK OUT OF IT IN CONSTRUCTION. WASHING MACHINE WOULDN'T FIT THROUGH LAUNDRY ROOM DOOR , THEY DIDN'T ALLOW FOR A WASHER THAT WASN'T APARTMENT SIZE, THIS IS A 3100 SQFT HOUSE, 5 BDRMS I really is unbelievable all the problems this community has had because of McCars lack of ethics! The neighbors are so nice and we have all grown to be fond of each other and the children so we don't want to move , and yet in a way we do. Everyone has had some sort of major problem with McCar and they say they are such a reputable builder yet once you sign on the dotted line the communication stops or it is so insulting to your intelligence you don't even want them to talk to you! WHY DO BUILDERS HAVE TO DO THIS TO PEOPLE? Maybe they will read this and WEEP? DOUBT IT!!!!!!
