Meridian Homes - be careful when your warranty expires!!!

We were initially happy with our new home, everyone was so friendly towards us in the beginning. That is until the one-year warranty expired. We had to struggle just to get the few things on our warranty list completed. The warranty process has been somewhat of a nightmare. The warranty manager had been rude and disrespectful towards me at times. I'm still trying to get the last 2 warranty issues resolved.

We designed out house and the builder and his super where as excitied as we where about it. They offered practical design ideas building on our wants and needs. They were a pleasure to work with through the entire process. They built the home in 6 months.

Great experiance

Building with Meridian Homes was a pleasure. Everyone with the company was very helpful and made us feel like a true part of the family. The 2 Superintendents Matt and Rick were unbeleivably helpful and easy to work with. The walk thru process that they use was very helpful and made us feel like they really wanted our house to be our home. I would defantly buy from Meridian again, and know that they will be there for me if I need them.

We had an excellent expirience with Meridian Homes. They were very helpful throughout the building process. The people working on the house were very polite and kind whenever we would visit to see the progress. Our closing went very smoothly and it was great to get to actually interact with the builder himself. We couldn't believe the attention we got. Anytime we had a warranty issue (which wasn't often) we would have it addressed very quickly. My wife and I would recommend Meridian Homes to anyone. We will definetly use them again in the future!

Meridian finished our house in Dec 2005. We are very happy with the finished product. It looks beautiful! Their interior designer was awesome and helped us realize the look we were going for. The follow-up isn't always the best but I think that is more on the vendor's side of it than actually being Meridian's fault. Overall, I am pleased with the finished result.

The home building process with Meridian was very disappointing. There was a complete lack of project management and communication. They switched vendors on numerous occassions, without notification. The builder failed to build the home to the agreed to specifications and was unwilling to correct the situation to our satisfaction. Also, post sale repairs and warranty issues were not completed in a timely fashion. The builder had zero personal communication with us after the agreement to build with his company. The investment from a dollar and time perspective would better spent with a more accountable, responsible builder.

We had a great experience with Meridian. (Edited), the plans and specs coordinator, was fantastic and helpful. (Edited), the realtor we worked with, was amazing!! Meridians standards are higher than most builders, so we didn't end up paying for many upgrades. We would recommend Meridian to our best friends and family.

Meridian Homes completely cut us off and didn't finish fixing our landscape issues as agreed upon in our contract. They tried to fix a problem with our back yard by putting down Bermuda matting to keep the back yard slope from eroding and it didn't work. When we tried to get them to come back out and correct the issue, as agreed upon, the said it was our problem now and they wouldn't come to our house anymore. Now I am face with $5,000 worth of landscape problems to fix and fill in treches caused by rain that are 6' wide by 7' deep by 70' long. When we talked with them numerous times for even some help to cure the problem, not 100%, but some help they again refused. My wife and I were betrayed by this company and now $5,000 has to go into a yard inorder to keep the erosion from taking out our foundation and this is a $140,000 home. I wish we could sue but don't have the money to do so. My experience as a first time home buyer is completely tarnished because the sterotypical builder left us high and dry. We couldn't sell the house now even if we wanted to so we wouldn't have to deal with paying this much money to correct what the builder was supposed to correct in the first place. My wife and I are very frustrated and and would love for Meridian's name to be tarnished as much as our trust in this builder has. DON'T INVEST IN A MERIDIAN HOME. THEY ARE CHEAP, NEGLEGANT, AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE BUYERS OR THEIR NEEDS!!!!!
