Great Home Building Experience

Hallmark Design Homes built us a great home, in a reasonable time frame. They were always professional and open in communication and our construction manager went above and beyond the required effort to ensure we were satisfied with our home. The team at Hallmark Design Homes knows how to treat their customers, understands the stress and concerns when making such a large and important purchase, and strives to please with great quality, personalized service, and true customer relationships. We had the pleasure of working with David Walters as a Construction Manager and we couldn't have asked for a better person in terms of working with someone to build the home of our dreams. I would be happy to share my experiences with anyone who asks and would recommend them to any friends or family.

They do build beautiful homes. I know ours is. As with any builder there are going to be problems. The salesperson was very unproffesional to deal with and was not knowledgable about the building process at all. There were many things that were standard that were not even explained to us. We seemed to be more of an inconvenience than anything. We went through several superintendants and the last one made up for all of the unpleasant ordeals we had already gone through. Luckily we cought a lot of "uh oh's" ourselves. But as far as the house goes now, we love it.

I think that this is a wonderful builder. My home was ready on time and in great shape. I did not have to put anything on my buyers walk but a couple of small paint touch ups. I have only had a couple of items that needed repair during the more than a year that I have been in my home, but they were taken care of promptly.

This company can't build a house on time. They have to us on numerous times. If the TX counties would enforce code, there would be numerous violations. oven that their invoice system shows in the final pricing that we didn't get. It's a lot of house for the money, but it's the worst hassle.

Progress on the house was very slow, taking 7 months from slab pour for no explainable reason. I have been in the house nearly 3 months and can not get a response on how to request warranty work, which is supposed to be via their website with a log in THEY have to furnish. My first superintendent was extremely rude and treated me like I was stupid because I am female. Quality was inconsistent. This guy's philosophy was "throw it up fast and see what falls off". Frame and brick were great, most everything else, including texturing and painting was inferior. I already have paint pealing off my window seat in the master, among many other issues. Even though subs came through quickly, the house sat for extended periods of time with nothing being done. I definately would not recommend a Hallmark Design Home due to my experience.
