The builder hasn't fixed any problems with my home (even the ones on walk through)I have a leak by my front door and water runs down the wall right by the switch that turns the lights on and off. Very dangerous. I was told not to use the switch when it rains because whomever uses it could get electricuted. Well, I emailed pictures to the builder and he send someone to fix it and it didn't work, it still leaks but what he did was not a professional job, if I can I can email you pictures-you wouldn't believe this roofers repair job. I have several code violations in my home, I have a door frame that at the top it is less than a half inch away from the corner of the wall and gets wider on the way down. My coutertops were never caulked and their is a big gap behind them. My bathrooms were never caulked and my tile was never sealed. Condensation is draining in my crawl space and my heat pump is unlevel. When it rains water is draining toward my footers. I could go on and on. All I can say is if buying a new home or an older home have a good reliable inspector that knows the codes (not just the current ones but I mean know the codes and know if they were grandfathered in). A new home inspection is necessary don't let anyone convience you that it isn't. We have learned that just because its a new home its in the best shape. Builders build by the bare minium only what your State requires them to build by. Call your local home builders association and Better Buisness Bureau find out about complaints. Use the builders name because lots of times they will change names. All of this is my opinion and fact. I can back up with pictures and if you would like to see them let me know, I would be glad to share my experiences and my opionions with you. alainky67@msn.com Thank you.
