House was two months late. Builder told us he was never late. He missed every deadline by weeks. We have been trying to get the punch list for closing completed and it has been 15 months. Builder refuses to do warranty work until escrow for punch list is finished but claims that the warranty work will be finished between the 11th and 12th month of taking possession of the house. Another falacy. Builder missed the close date and his foreman lied and told me that they would make the date without a doubt. We sold our old house and had to move, living in temp housing until our place was completed. When we asked the builder to split costs, he stated that he wasn't responsible for his foreman's actions. We have confirmed with counsel that legally he is. Builder chewed my wife out on the phone and then hung up. This happened several times. He also claimed that I was and am dishonest, but when asked for a single example, he couldn't present one. Par for the builder. After working through our house, his realtor quit. She confided to us that many of his dealing end in a similar fashion. Plenty of other builders in Anchorage. Do yourself a favor and find someone who can deliver without you having to take them to court and endure avoidable stress.
