DO NOT SELECT CARDEL if you want a professional builder with good customer service. Promises made which were not delivered and after 3 months there are still outstanding issues. Yesterday I called and asked to speak with CEO of the Tampa division and I was told flat out "NO". The only helpful people are those in the design center, but company lacks leadership and customer service and will not sustain in this housing market once word gets out about the disappointments with Cardel. We bought from Cardel based on the notion we would get quality personalized attention since they are a small family run operation, but it was quite the opposite due to the fact that every dollar this company can make is a big deal because they are so small and they do not have to worry about ratings because they are not large enough to be rated. If you want customer service use a well known, well established builder in the area!

The salesman said that if we did not buy now he had someone else coming in in half an hour. He did not know what came standard and what the upgrades were. He said that we would get upgrades that we did not get. He did not have any pictures of the houses that they offered. He had the company drawing. He never contacted us after we signed the contract. Not one phone call to tell us about how our house was coming. Not one phone call to tell us thank you for buying from Cardel. At our first meeting with the project manager said that they would be in contact with us at least every other week. From October to mid June we had six project managers and no phone calls of communication from Cardel. Any communication between us was me calling them. At one point I wanted to see how long it would take for them to contact us. After 12 weeks I finally called them. At our frame walk thru in March we had four major issues. At our walk thru in mid June, not one thing had been addressed or fixed. Two months later things still are not fixed. After many phone calls and emails to the corporate office they ask me to come to the corporate office for a meeting. After the meeting they said that they would discuss the issues and get back to me. That still has not happened. I can't even get them to return a phone call. Thank goodness they have to pass so many inspection from the county. Without the inspection I would not let them build me a dog house. Over all they have been the most unprofessional company I have ever done business with. I would not recommend them as your home builder
