I am very dissappointed. The experience has made me already want to look for another home for my family.
The builder's realtor never returns phone calls unless she needs something from me to keep the house from closing. We never once got to do a frame walk, and the model homes didn't open until 3 months after we signed.
The finish of the house is horrible, the roof tiles are cracked and chipped everywhere. There are spots of different colors on the exterior stucco. The interior wasn't any better. The tile around the undermount sink just ends, there's no rounded corner or anything, so you see an inch of stucco all around the house. The pipes coming out of the wall and floor are all loose, because the plumber didn't know how to properly drill holes and use the pipe supports. There were a few code violations that I pointed out during my final walk, but they told me the inspector let it go, but I told them that I wanted to talk to the inspector, still no call two weeks after. We were missing a window upstairs that the plans we had initialed had called for, when I brought this up they said that the plans I initialed weren't the same ones that they built from and the ones they built from did not show the window. They told us that the model home does not have one, but we weren't able to see the model home until 3 months after we signed, and we weren't able to do a frame walk to see this while it was being built.
While doing our final walk, the gentleman that did the walk with us, pointed out a few things, but generally was upset that we were pointing out comestic things.
When we told all of this to the builder, their response was that these were just tract homes, and we didn't like it we can always not take the house. Generally we feel that since these weren't their 'A' list homes they could care less about us, but I think $400,000 for a house is a lot of money to pay for a non 'A' list home. I recommend to stay away from this builder if all possible.
