Overall Opinion about Beazer's "Suncrest" homes community
Sales people were very nice however, they made misleading or untrue statements about the home and what could and couldn't be done during the construction. The customer service rep, Eric, was great at getting things done.
The front communication cables running underneath the front yard were cut by the builder's subcontrator while using a backhoe. It took pressure and a long time, about 30 days without a phone or cable service, to get the yard done and to replace the removed earth and restore the landscaping and water systems.
The interior has warped floor siding which most was replaced. How can a worker not see the damage? Maybe a blind worker installed the siding. Most all problems during the warranty period were completed. But with othe other stuff, IE, siding, etc.. we just gave up cause it was an ongoing battle with the office that served our community to get someone out to fix the visible imperfections.
It kind of feels like that just through the last of our phases up real quick so they could go to their other home community site to start development. They couldn't proceed until they finsihed our community. That's why I believe they cut corners hoping most of it wouldn't be caught.
Overall, the house is sound, good use of square footage and big enough lot to install a pool or other amenities. I believe if companies the it right the first time, then there wouldn't be extra expenses to redo the problems. Cheap labor, incompetent subcontractors, and cheap inferior building materials, etc... are what costs the builder. It seems they sacrafice quality for the "bottom line!"
