**WARNING** Run away from this builder and don't look back!! Severly poor construction
Almost no communication from the builder whan the house was being built, it was a constant battle for communication witht he builder. The house was very poorly built. The roof sags all over and has severe structure problems, the electrical is a total mess and fuses blow all the time, the carpet is bunched up all over the house from improper installation, the linoleum has shrunk and separated, the doors do not stay open and never closed properly, the dining room wall/floor is hanging over about 6 inches into the garage , I have found buried wood from the construction all through my yard, severe foundation cracks on all walls, the sloped grade on my front lawn makes me feel I live on the side of a mountain, rusted nails are popping out from my ceilings. I think the builder's work crews dropped out of a Home Depot class after the first 15 minutes and then went to work for the builder. Many more problems but, I think you’ll get the point.

We chose our home in April 2004 and finally closed on March 28 2006. We were told it would be ready to move in on July 18 2005. These dates are crazy but acurate! We lost over $85,000 waiting for this home to be completed due to the housing market in our area. We sold up north and purchased in Florida. I would never build with this company again due to this fact alone. Noone from Maronda communicates with the buyer let alone any other employee within their own company. My entire community was to be finished in the year 2005, so far only 8 homes are complete. You would think that if Maronda took 2 whole years to build my home, they would at least get it right, but that is not the case. I moved in 1 week ago to no water meter(no water), a broken irrigation system (dead lawn), not one repair made from my final walkthru (tub cracks, wall cracks and dents, outlets and phone jacks not working, holes in ceiling, no dryer vent, 7 shrubs stolen out in front of my home, cable and electric set up on wrong side of home, large spacing betwen cabinets, chipped outside paint, chunks of driveway missing, no mailbox, 1 house number painted on with others nailed on, no screens, no latice on windows, keys to door not working, hot water coming out of toilets and hot water running from cold water faucets, screws missing on door knobs, lighting fixtures falling out of ceiling, master bathtub faucet falling out of wall, and too many dings to even count) My home was supposed to be cleaned by professional cleaners before arrival but that was not completed either. I did however receive a wonderful letter in the mail stating that the Maronda warranty department was "trying" to get in touch with me about repairs and if I did not respond in 10 days they would not fullfill their committment to repairs. I have one word for them. Noone ever tried to contacted me from Maronda, EVER. It's so bizzarre that every other company has been able to contact me, but poor Maronda has been "shut out" Come on, was I born yesterday? I think not. Please do not be sucked in by the the large square footage and low cost like I and so many others have been. It is not worth your sanity to be put through this type of torture nor your families.

I had my home built by Maronda a little over 2 years ago and Maronda has yet to fix everything that is wrong. Maronda has a long list of all of our problems (via emails and phone calls), but the following is a recap: The roof is sagging (Maronda sent someone to look at it about a year ago and, after they blamed the builder and the builder blamed the roofers, nothing ever got done). We are still waiting and the roof is still sagging and getting worse every day!!! The electrical is still a death trap in this house and you have not corrected it. (Wiring is flickering, lights flick off due to over-heating.) Maronda sent electricians out several times, and each time they stated that the wiring is all wrong throughout the house. Even with the statements from the electricians, nothing was ever truly fixed ? just patched up. The dining room wall is jetting about 6 inches too far into the garage, hanging over the foundation. The window in the master bedroom is slowly sinking into the ground "creaking and buckling along". The septic is leaking all through the front lawn. The air handler closet was never finished and has big holes in the wall. The float switch on the Air Handler does not work properly and water over flows into the carpet and the lines are cleaned twice a month. The heat pump condenser (Outside A/C) is making loud noises and freezes up if the temperature reaches below 60 degrees. Every one of our doors in the house has to be slammed in order to keep them shut ? if we don?t slam them, they pop open. The doors to the air handler and to the laundry room don?t stay closed at all. The garage ceiling was built too low and we cannot install a garage door opener we bought 2 years ago (it is still laying in our garage). Between the garage floor and the driveway was never finished properly and is getting worse everyday. Every time it rains, our front windows and door leaks. The front lawn grading is too steep and when it rains we have the ?Great Lakes? in our front lawn. My lawn mower and cars bottom out when we drive into or out of our driveway. After paying a hefty price to upgrade our kitchen appliances, our microwave stopped working (it is only two years old). We now have to pay the same price it would cost to replace the microwave, for labor and parts to fix it! The project manager was never present during the construction of our home to supervise the sub-contractors, so they did what they wanted. I believe she was having a baby at the time!!! But I also blame the city inspectors for not inspecting each stage better. I have checked with a building and roofing engineer and they have stated there is no Statute of Limitation against a builder for the roofing structure, therefore we are still trying, and will continue to try to get Maronda to do things right. My wife and I feel we have given Maronda sufficient time to fix the problems with our house. These problems should have been fixed long ago and are they are only going to get worse and gain in financial impact as time goes on. It is sad to say our last and final approach to these problems will be reporting them to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau. Thank you for allowing me to share my Maronda problems and maybe help others BEWARE!!!!

Although the house was done on time, many issues were written up to be completed. Builder never followed up to complete items. Made at least 7 calls to builder leaving messages, no return calls. Sent numerous (at least 5) email messages to builder and got no response. Maronda will not finish the items I have in writing from them. Next step is to employ legal action against builder.

My one year warranty expires in one week and Maronda has yet to even call me back about repairs from my SIX MONTH INSPECTION. There is cracking (17 total cracks) on both the exterior and interior of the home. I have had to hire my own inspectors. Maronda refuses to even come out to look at the repairs that need to be made. I wish someone would have warned me about this before I built with them. Once they get your money, they are done with you.
