Comments:
I purchased a Maronda Home in the Pittsburgh, PA area in January, 2005. I have had serious problems with water run off from adjacent properties due to grading and the lack of french drain placement needed to carry water run off in the development. I get water from at least 4 other properties running on to my property causing MOUNDS of water, soil erosion and silt re-distribution. An asthetic nightmare. I am seriously concerned about long term foudation damage due to this excessive water run off. Maronda has consistently denied that this is a problem. In fact they suggest that water "swales" are OK which are merely paths the water takes across my property that results in water-made trenches around my property on both sides. Also, Maronda has in fact had this same problem with other home owners (my neighbor being one of them) and (my pastor being another) where they either installed a "trench" that fixed the water run off problem for one homeowner, but created another for their neighbors or installed a "french" drain system. Yet when I specifically asked for either solution to my problem, Maronda has denied that they have even taken this corrective action for others. Weird? I am so frustrated that I have already filed a report with the Better Business Bureau and will also file another complaint with regard to their failure to comply with minimum property standards for housing specifically grading design. I have written to the Vice President of Maronda and recived no response. I will also be writing to the President of Maronda and hope to hear from him on this. In addition, Maronda continues to only respond when pressured to do so. Also, I have had probems with my electricity which goes out frequently and dims/brighten constantly and water problems with my doors when it rains heavily. Buyers BEWARE and lets unite (legally if necessary) to hold Maronda accountable for their responsibilities. We have paid and purchased the homes, they should at least take corrective action on building errors/omissions/comissions.
