They got better service than we did
I've heard that in other comunities of the builder that they had great satisfaction and building quality. We had different people building our houses, different painters, etc. We would have liked to have gotten the service they had.

Sycamore Parkside Villages - Richmond American Exprience
The sales people were very friendly, but one was new and gave us a lot of mis-information that we didn't find out about until after the contract was signed. It was also difficult to get intouch with them by phone.

I built my last home so I know what to look for.The construction of this home was shoddy at best.Drywall seams are visiable, dryer vent and washer hookup in wrong place, backyard dosen't drain after a rain,Cracks in ceiling etc,etc can go on and on.BTW the local newspaper had a survey of all the buliders in Tucson on quality of construction and customer satifaction and Richmond American came in dead last.I do not recomend the builder to anyone.

House had to be repainted outside. Some areas had missed paint and touch-ups made things look worse. Painting inside was unprofessional - paint blobs on the walls and "paint acne" where they painted over dirt. Several areas had paint a tad off from the main paint on the walls; baseboards and molding around doors have nail holes showing because they were not tapped down well, and puttied before painting; hot and cold water was reversed in master shower and bath; 10 foot ceilings show drywalls seams at the 8 foot and 4 foot marks (especially at night) - builder originally refused to re-mud the seams they couldn't see in daylight. I advised them that drywall seams show best at night and after I filed on them they decided to have the drywallers re-mud the seams (which should have been done right to begin with); drywall mud and paint stains all over the garage floor and front concrete walkway, side garage door stoop and back patio because workers did not cover concrete with plastic as they worked; "hole" above flashing above patio roof; A/C breaker was missing from electrical box when we moved in and the latch wasn't working so it blew open in the wind - worker held it together with duct tape and when it was removed it ripped off the paint; concrete blob left on sidewalk; key stuck in the lock and wouldn't come out when we first moved in. "Bow" in great room wall. Worker cut a small hole in the wall and banged on the stud to straighten it but it was still not flush. This caused the backside of the wall to push out a little bit and popped several nails in our bedroom wall. We refused to accept a "patch" and a larger piece of drywall was put in the wall. Builder has taken over 2 months to fix these repairs and I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and the Arizona Registrar of Contractors.
