Unproffessional, Poor Workmanship, and Terrible Communications

My wife and I were told of all these options that were available to us before we began building the house. We even went to their homestore and picked out the items that we wanted. The representative looked professional when we arrived, but when we began asking common questions, she had to excuse herself to make phone calls and get out answers. At one point in this meeting, and this is not a lie, the representative began digging in her nose right when we were talking to her. My wife, real estate agent and I couldn't believe what she was doing. I should have seen that the professionalism of this company was poor from the ground, up. Once the building process began, we started noticing the options weren't on the home. When we contacted the builder, we were informed that we were building a home that has "very limited options", but for another $2500, we could upgrade and have the option to change things. They wanted $2500 just to have the ability to get the options we wanted, and then we would have to pay for the options on top. We also caught them trying to cut corners by taking out the entire wall. There was an option for a french door, and I told them that I could buy a french door for less than the $700 they wanted. During the building, they excluded the entire wall that the door and frame go in, and they weren't going to tell me. I had to argue for three days to get them to understand that the option was for the door, not the entire wall. They also tried to leave out a water supply to the refrigerator that was promised. After considerable time, they agreed to do it, but when I arrived at the house, they had drilled a hole in the floor and pushed a water line up through it. The agreement was for a nice, in wall box. I had to complain for two days when I found half the ductwork in the basement without tape on the seems to prevent leaking. There are numerous other incidents and issues, but I think I've outlined enough to give you an idea of what Regency Homes is all about. Beware and steer clear of them.

Communication was low during the building of our town home, several options were miscommunicated and instead of solutions or options being dicusscused we were given the response well that's just how it's going to be. During our final walk through we noticed two foot size holes in the drywall leading to the unfinished basement. The response was the basement is considered an unfinished area of the home and therefore sold as is. No budging on repairing the very noticable holes. Although they did comply with the request to clean up the basement floor as a white messy film covered the entire floor. We've had 2 water issues that required prompt attention, both were met in a reasonable time frame, although cosmetically nothing was done. The most noticiable being the fireplace vent on the roof letting water into our attic that saturated through the ceiling of the second bedroom, the seal to the vent was fixed promptly but nothing has been done about the 3 foot crack in our ceiling. We like our home overall, but wish the builder had a more customer centered attitude towards building.
