This builder stopped communicating about midway through construction. I had to finish the house myself. The subcontractors he hired were shoddy, except for a few, and would not return to fix mistakes. I had to go through bonding to get plumbing finally finished - weeks after finally moving in. Then, at closing, the builder decides he deserves full payment and files a lien and threatens to file bogus liens if we do not pay him. Had we done a criminal background check prior to hiring this "good ole guy" builder, we would have found out that he had a criminal record (been incarcerated) for embezzlement and fraud. Oklahoma needs to protect their consumers!!
