I currently work as a remodeler/contractor installing bathrooms, kitchens, floors, walls, entertainment systems, etc. and I recently worked on a Creative Homes Unlimited house in St. Louis county. Having over 20 years experience, I can honestly tell you that you need to be extra careful if you choose a home built by Creative Homes.
When I tore out existing walls and floors for new ones, I saw sub floor problems, wiring workarounds out of code, uneven floors, leaking windows and seams, bowed walls, leaking pipes, unaligned door jams throughout, and much more. I was shocked to see a company that does business in Kirkwood can pass code with all these defects. I have a brother who works for McBride and Sons and he also reiterated the same after he toured the home I was working on. There were so many problems where they cut corners, that I had to put in overtime to make it right. You be the judge!
After carefully reading the prior post from "Previous Comment doesnt reflect", I can only say that it had to be written by the owners of the company to cover up the original review who was right on target!
I would not recommend this home builder if you are looking for a custom home builder in the St. Louis area! I would challenge the reader to make their own judgement by reviewing existing homes built by Creative Home Unlimited. Do yourself a favor, please bring someone in the construction business with you when you inspect their homes before buying. I can only say that there are much better and more reputable firms than this mom and pop business. I have heard many many good things about McBride & Sons especially since they do a lot of work for charity and the Kirkwood community!!!
